My twin, chiki, was the ex editor of Penguin India, random house, and now runs her own publishing company in India called Juggernaut. She has incredible advice to give to writers that demystifies the publishing process.
My sister is a rare example of one of the few last living traditional editors who really puts her hearts and soul into every one of her writers and books. I am not saying this to promote her. In fact, we have radical differences of opinion when it comes to books. I hate the book she publishes. I think she’s too commercial. But I think she’s incredible at what she does
. She also runs a children’s book club named after her late son Shoki who passed away a few years ago. I’ll be posting children’s book recommendations from her from time to time but meanwhile here is a great way that she found a new writer which might give some of you hope that not everything is traditional in the publishing world. once again apologies for all the typos and grammatical errors. I know that some words have not been capitalised but I am trying to control these neurological symptoms and using my hands as little as possible so this is all on voice diction and unfortunately, I don’t know how to tell Siri to use capital letters.
